making memories in 2018

Well friends, this is it. Christmas is over and the year is coming to a close. Looking back on all that Antique Candle Co.® (previously Antique Candle Works) has accomplished in 2018 makes us so excited for the New Year and 365 more days of new opportunities for the business.

I think that the best way to start new year’s resolutions is to look back on everything you did the year before, so that’s exactly what we did!

The Candle Crew

This time last year, we only had 8 members of the Antique Candle Co.® team. At one point this year, we had nearly 20!

The sweet men and women who’ve become a part of the candle family are truly irreplaceable, and we couldn’t be more thankful for the friendships we’ve forged over the last 12 months! Where else can you laugh with friends your entire shift?

So Many Smells!

In 2018, we introduced not 1, not 2, but 5 new fragrances! In the spring, we all loved yummy Sweet Lemon and cozy Fresh Cut Herbs. During the fall season, we couldn’t get enough of our Fall Harvest and reinvented Pumpkin Spice.

Then finally, this holiday season the oh-so-good Peppermint fragrance captured the hearts of candy cane lovers everywhere—including us! We’re already in the works for more fragrances in 2019…What scent are you hoping for?

Haven Mavens

Over the summer, Brittany and I took to the skies and traveled to Charleston, South Carolina to be a part of the 2018 HAVEN Design and DIY Blogging Conference!

We spent several days in Charleston meeting hundreds of talented and lovely blogger ladies! We met long-time friends we’ve only ever known on Instagram, and started new friendships with so many amazing people. If you ever see a tagged picture of our candles by a blogger, there’s a good chance we met her at Haven!

ACC in Stores

You may know that Antique Candle Co.® actually distributes our candles in stores throughout the United States and Canada. This year, we’ve doubled the number of small and medium-sized shops carrying your favorite handmade candles!

We are so proud to support other small businesses that are passionate and full of love. We have a blog series called “Antique Candle Co.® in Stores” that features some of these adorable stores, and on our website, you can also find out if there’s a shop near you!

We’re Expanding!

We couldn’t be more grateful for all the support you’ve shown us this year! You’ve loved our candles so much that we’ve outgrown our studio! We’re already starting the process of expanding right next door and doubling our space. This is so exciting because that means even more candles for you to enjoy!

More Than Numbers

From the beginning of 2018, we have worked hard to bring you the best candle experience possible!

This year, the Antique Candle Co.® team made and shipped over 100,000 candles, melts, and sample packs;

The Fall Harvest 16oz Mason Jar candle was the most popular item amongst our friends for the entire year;

We went from 8 to 20 team members, including several new leaders and an awesome Digital Media Specialist (who takes all our lovely photos and videos!);

We met 55k friends on Instagram, and have reached over 2 million viewers on Pinterest;

Most of all, we’ve learned A LOT!

Antique Candle Co.® couldn’t have accomplished any of our goals for 2018 without the support of friends like you. You mean everything to this small business in Lafayette, Indiana, and we are proud to call each of you our candle family!
