forever grateful

Veterans Day is a day for us to recognize and honor those who have served our country. 🤍💙 Many of us know someone who has dedicated their life to protect our freedom; they’re our family, our friends, our neighbors, and our coworkers. At Antique Candle Co.®, we are so incredibly grateful to Veterans for their selflessness and the many sacrifices they've had to make.

We celebrate all Veterans, including one of our own, Jack. 🤗 Jack is the Senior Distribution Manager at Antique Candle Co.® (he makes sure allll your packages get shipped out speedy fast 📦). He served in the Marine Corps from 2014 - 2018. During that time, Jack was stationed in Cherry Point, North Carolina, where he worked as a firefighter on an airfield and responded to emergency situations. 👨‍🚒 His service, like many others, is a sacrifice.

They have given their time and have risked their lives to serve our country. As you can imagine, their commitment also affects the lives of their loved ones. As we were thinking of Veterans Day and all that surrounds it, we thought it would be sweet to hear from Jack’s momma, Kathy, about what Jack’s service meant to her personally. 🥰

Being a parent of a service member requires a special kind of love. 💕 Kathy told us that as a mother, you feel proud of your child, but you also feel a sense of helplessness and worry. With Jack being miles and miles away, she felt she wouldn’t be able to keep her child safe and be there to help him. Even through all the uncertainty, Kathy was still able to be supportive of her son and his noble decision to join the military. ⭐

“I am proud that my child chose to take care of others. He has a strong sense of duty and strong sense of doing the right thing. He truly cares about the needs of others.”

For the first time in her life, Kathy saw another world and perspective that was difficult to understand until she had experienced it herself. She said her eyes were open to the sacrifices that are made every single day and how thankful she is, not only for her own son’s call of duty, but for all the other service men and women and their loved ones. 💖

“I am truly thankful for every service member who chooses to sign that contract to serve. Ultimately, they are giving up everything that they have to protect our country, their families, and their loved ones.”

Thank you for highlighting this brother, a fellow United States Marine. I AM a Woman United States Marine Corps Veteran, from a family of military members, and 2 former husbands and fiance’s also US Marines.
